Category iOS App

Year 2022 — Present

HYPERVISION is a unified control ecosystem for managing and deploying high-definition 3D holographic displays across global retail networks, luxury brands, and large-scale events. I architected a native iOS solution that extends the web platform into a mobile-first experience—delivering professional-grade hardware control, real-time content synchronization, and precision device management directly in the field.

The Context

HYPERVISION serves global retailers, luxury brands, and event professionals who need mission-critical control over distributed holographic hardware networks. The platform already had a robust web infrastructure, but enterprise users demanded mobile access for field operations. The challenge: architect a native iOS solution that doesn't compromise functionality while delivering the speed and precision expected from professional-grade hardware control systems.

Enterprise platform overview and hardware ecosystem

Discovery & Requirements

Conducted in-depth audits of the existing web platform to identify core workflows and pain points. Surveyed 1,000 users to understand mobile expectations and conducted competitive analysis across iOS/Android apps in the professional control space. Collaborated with hardware teams to map technical constraints and device capabilities. Key finding: users struggled with device identification in multi-device environments—a critical friction point that would require innovation to solve.

Strategy & User Research

Developed four distinct user personas (event professionals, retail managers, brand strategists, technicians) with detailed customer journey maps. Conducted extensive stakeholder workshops to align on core objectives and translate web platform workflows into mobile-first patterns using native iOS components.

Rapid Prototyping & Validation

Built high-fidelity prototypes in Figma using native iOS UI components to ensure platform consistency and immediate stakeholder alignment. Created five interactive prototypes focusing on the four mission-critical features: HyperCamera, Device Control, Cloud Synchronization, and Dynamic Playlists.

Usability Testing & Innovation

Moderated 15+ remote usability testing sessions to validate key workflows. Discovered a critical pain point: users couldn't reliably identify specific devices in crowded multi-device environments. Engineered the "Flash-to-Identify" protocol—a visual signal triggering directly from the interface—which solved the pairing accuracy issue and significantly improved the setup experience.

Design System & UI Development

Translated web design language into mobile-native patterns. Built a comprehensive design system with native iOS components, color palette, and typography. Prioritized HyperCamera as the flagship feature with A/B testing to validate design approaches. Iteratively refined interface through hardware designer collaboration to maximize usability.

Collaboration & Iteration

Worked closely with the BA, Product Manager, and hardware engineering teams in continuous design syncs. Conducted pre-release usability testing cycles and presented findings to stakeholders for iterative refinement. Maintained active partnership with developers throughout implementation to resolve technical constraints and ensure design integrity across the codebase.

Implementation & Quality Assurance

Developed comprehensive design documentation detailing element interactions, typography, color logic, and UI Kit functionality. Collaborated with QA to identify edge cases and hardware-specific behavior. Refined designs based on real-world constraints discovered during development, ensuring the final product matched both design vision and technical feasibility.

Post-Release: Data-Driven Evolution

Spent two years optimizing the product post-launch using data analytics. Monitored key metrics via Amplitude: user retention, time-on-screen, feature adoption, task completion rates. Analyzed app store reviews to identify UX friction. A notable win: implemented device-specific content filtering after discovering users were overwhelmed by media incompatible with their hardware—this single change dramatically improved ratings and user satisfaction across regions.

Key Learnings

Enterprise users prioritize reliability and precision over feature abundance. The "Flash-to-Identify" solution proved that sometimes the best UX innovation comes from deeply understanding a specific user pain point rather than adding more features. Long-term success requires a feedback loop: launch → monitor → analyze → iterate. Lean UX and Agile methodologies proved essential for managing a product as complex as distributed hardware control.
